 Saturday, July 04, 2009As if "on cue", the official arrival of summer brought warm temperatures and sunny blue sky to the Vail Valley... a welcome change from the cool, wet spring we've experienced over the past several weeks! The wet springtime weather has everything looking more like Kauai than the mountains of Colorado, however, with wildflowers bursting forth and the mountains as lush and green as I can remember... just beautiful! The most recent rendition of the annual Teva Games marked the official start of our summer season, and what a fun weekend it was! Packed with everything from road and mountain bike races, to freestyle kayaking events, to evening concerts on Gore Creek Drive, it was a fantastic event! The whole weekend felt somewhat akin to a powder day in March, with the parking structure filled to the brim and cars lining Frontage Road. The only difference was that, instead of skis and snowboards, the autos were loaded with kayaks, bikes and other summer gear. It struck me yet again that we really do live in a very special place in the world! On to business... our real estate market continues to "percolate" as the summer season prepares to make its debut. Over the past few weeks, a $6 million transaction closed in the Cordillera Valley Club, a $7.3 million residence at Solaris was placed under contract, and eight new homes in Red Sky Ranch have been reserved. Coming soon is the closing of a spectacular Mountain Star estate that was listed at $21.95 million. Please stay tuned... we can't wait to see how the summer season unfolds!
