A recent snow on the top of the Gore Range combined with the "early bird" aspen and cottonwood already changing color provide a vivid reminder that our summer season is coming to a close. Ahead of us are eight weeks or so of my favorite time of the year. Crisp, cool temperatures, changing colors, and the siren song of another fun ski season ahead make this a terrific time to be in Vail!

Our real estate market continues to demonstrate an underlying strength that belies the national headlines. June sales figures, the latest available, were the strongest of the year. The summer season has seen significant properties being placed under contract throughout the Vail Valley, and our luxury niche continues to show strength. This leads me to believe that 2008, while certainly not a record-breaker, will be yet another solid year.
